Best Gaming Computer

What up gamers!  Lets start with less QQ and stepping up our game.  I love hearing people talk it up about their PK skillz, but is it all just skillz?  Come on…I honestly believe it it is about 30% Skillz, 60% best gaming computer, and 10% luck/lag!

Bottom line is playing your game on the best gaming computer will increase your game like a turbine engine does a jet over a propeller plane.  The problem is, who has the time to review all the best gaming PC websites, hope the review is true, and then spend the $$’s!

No one has that type of time, so I figure I just make one stop shop, for a true gamer’s review of the best gaming computer.

I gonna be checking in on the best gaming computer, parts, accessories, and everything a hardcore gamer needs to game.

I also wanna hear from the gamer’s out there a no bullshit review of all the above stuff comment on my reviews and junk.

Important Milestones

Video Games have a history of over 50 years and have been well documented. This is a synopsis of the most important milestones in the history of video gaming.

Video games can be dated back to 1952. It was A.S.Douglas who created the first documented computer game “Noughts and Crosses.”

The first American to invent an interactive video game was William A. Higginbotham. He invented “Tennis for Two” in 1958. In 1962, Steven Russell created “Space war.”

In 1971, Nolan Bushnell created the first coin arcade style game “Computer Space.” Ralph Baer, later known as “the father of video games”, created the first home game console, The Odyssey, capable of playing 12 different games.

The first multi-game home console, Atari 2600, with plug-in cartridges that store game information was released in 1977. 1978 saw Magnavox releasing – a console system that includes a full 49 key keyboard- Odyssey 2.

The popular Pac-Man was brought to the United States by the Japanese Company, Namco, in partnership with America’s Midway in 1980. Pac-Man is the first game to have an animated character with its own name.

Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto created Donkey Kong, introducing “Mario” as a character, in four different levels. Miyamoto went on to become an industry giant followed by a string of successful games beginning with Donkey Kong in 1981.

Software giant Microsoft jumped on the bandwagon in 1982 and released its first version of “Flight Simulator.”

The Americans, hitherto used to play games on slow systems with almost negligible sound systems, were overwhelmed by the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) released in 1986. NES had 8-bit color graphics, elaborate sound effects and faster game play.

As video games grew popular and addictive, a slew of games that were racist, pornographic and violent to the core, hit the market. This trend of feeding to the barbaric streaks in gamers began with Custer’s Revenge in 1983. This type of gaming reached a boiling point with the release of Mortal Kombat in 1992. The extreme violence in Mortal Kombat, lead to a Senate Investigation 1993.

Following the Senate Investigation, the Entertainment Software Association established The Entertainment Software Rating Board in 1994. This board began by providing ratings and information about video and computer game content. The ESRB has since evolved 6 ratings and 31 content descriptions that slot every game into a particular category.

While the games were growing rich in content and presentation, the technology available to play the games was not as best as one would have liked it to be. The systems were either too pricey or lacked the finesse to play the games. Breaking this spell in 1999, Sega released Dreamcast System. Dreamcast with its groundbreaking technology – VMS memory card/PDA and built in 56kbps modem for online play – was described by Popular Science Magazine as “one of the most important and innovative products of 1999.”

Technology at its best is available in the video game industry. Sony released the 128 bit Play station 2 – the first console to use DVD technology – with graphics capability that was better than that available on a PC. This is one of the major milestones of the year 2000.

Hoping to cash in on the video game popularity, the U.S.Army, gave away the game, America’s Army, for free. The motive was to attract new recruitment for the army. The game eventually became the top online action game in the country in 2002.

While the army was using the video games positively, citizens were concerned about the impact of “cop-killer” games. Deciding that enough was enough, Washington State signed a legislation prohibiting selling or renting cop-killer games to minors. This historical regulation, fining violators’ up to $500, came into force in 2003.

What has been listed here is only about what can be termed as Major Milestones in the evolution of Video Games and does not claim to be a calendar of events in the history of video games.

Sound Card Buyer’s Guide

Do You Need a Sound Card?

If you want to buy a sound card, you should ask yourself whether you really need one. The motherboards of today come equipped with great on-board sound. Some motherboards even have support for 5.1 surround sound and come with a range of audio optical ports. So if you plan on using your computer to listen to music, play games, or any other basic things to do with sound, you should definitely consider staying with on-board sound.

On the other hand, there are two good reasons why you would want to buy a sound card:

Producing: If you’re producing music you’ll need a high quality sound card for the very best sound quality. Your sound card will probably need some extra ports/connections that on-board sound doesn’t provide.

Gaming: If you want the very best gaming experience possible, that means having the very best sound. So you’ll want a sound card to do this. You can probably pick up a decent sound card for gaming at 100 bucks or less.

Surround Sound

An important factor in choosing your sound card is the sound standards that it supports. Most high-end sound cards support what is called EAX and 5.1 surround sound. This means you can hook up to 5 speakers to your sound card for a great 3D sound experience. Some cards even support the newer 7.1 surround sound.

Special Features

If you need some particular type of feature on your sound card, make sure you take this into account. Music producers will have the most needs, such as multi-channel support, MIDI support, good signal to noise ratio, and plenty of connectivity options if needed. Gamers won’t need to be so picky with their sound card, surround sound is probably their largest concern.

Finally, if you’re buying a high-end sound card, make sure your computer will be able to take advantage of it. There’s no point having a great sound card if your CPU can’t handle it. This is an important point to consider before going out and buying your sound card.

What PC is best for gaming?

I just bought the only PC video game that I like. But my computer is not reading the disk. And my roomates computer always shuts down before it finishes downloading. Any suggestions on a good computer for gaming?

if you have a current desktop, just upgrade your memory, video card, and optical drive. you could total rebuild your PC for about 300 dollars. that’s everything but the case, power supply, keyboard, mouse, and monitor. it’s very easy, go to newegg.com to buy the parts…but i would recommend looking at custom PC’s online to see what equipment they have so you have some kind of idea what to buy…good luck

It’s in the Bag, Baby

Are you using duct tape to keep your laptop in its case as you walk down the street? Is the strap gone, and zipper broken? Or, are you just tucking your computer under your arm when moving from place to place hoping you won’t need to use it longer than two hours as that’s when the battery will die and you don’t have anywhere to carry the power cord?

If any of the above sound familiar, it’s time to think about a new bag or case for your laptop. And, if you’re in the market for a new way to transport your computer, you need to consider a few things before making that purchase. While it’s not a major buy from a cost perspective, your laptop case or bag will protect what IS a major investment, your laptop, so it’s important to choose one that will work best for you.

Below are some common computer-bag buyer “types” and the best choices for them:

* Road Warrior – You’re a laptop power user or frequent traveler and you need your   laptop bags to keep your computer safe from drops, airport security checks and the general wear and tear of constantly being relocated. CHOOSE: A computer bag that is well padded, with a thick comfortable strap. Also, consider a hard-sided (plastic or fiberglass) bag for even greater protection.

* Fashion Plate – You think it’s important to have a computer bag that is both fashionable and functional. Laptop bag designers increasingly are catering to those who want to look good while safely transporting their computers so the choices in color, style, design and materials is huge. CHOOSE: Leather. It’s very durable and looks great for years. Also, check out some of the vinyl bags in bold colors that complement even the most-style conscious computer users.

* Hard-Core Gamer – You LOVE gaming on your computer. You take it everywhere and you spend hours everyday playing games. Because of your laptop is heavy, you’ll need a laptop bag that’s comfortable. Fashion is probably a secondary consideration for you. CHOOSE: A messenger bag. It’s great to toss over your shoulder or across your body for better distribution of all that weight. And there’s plenty of room for peripherals and additional batteries.

* Student – You’re constantly on the go, moving from class to class, across campus and to your part-time job. You need a bag that’s comfortable, cool and well-padded (you’re not always super careful about where you drop it) and you’re not willing to compromise looks for functionality. CHOOSE: A cool nylon or leather backpack that will keep your laptop safe but out of the way with plenty of room for your notebooks and textbooks.

Good luck and happy bag hunting!

Psp Videos Downloads – How to Download Videos for Psp

I own a PSP and I believe it is one of the best portable gaming consoles I have owned. Besides playing PSP games, you can also use it to play video from PSP videos downloads as well as music. You can even use it to surf the internet.

One of the favorite things I do with my PSP is watching PSP videos. So whenever I am on a train or bus, I can watch my favourite TV shows or movies on PSP. It’s actually pretty simple to transfer the videos to your PSP as well.

Well, first of all, you will need a Sony memory stick. Depending on your budget, I recommend you get at least a 2GB memory stick since videos are generally large and can take up a lot of space.

Depending on where you got your video from, you will probably need a video to PSP video converter to convert the video to mp4 format. Once you have the video, you will need a computer to transfer the video files to your memory stick via USB cable.

Once your PSP is connected to the computer, look under general options and USB on your PSP and press X to turn it on. Your computer should be able to detect the PSP.

Open a folder called PSP and under that folder create two folders named MP_ROOT and 100mnv01. Copy the videos from your computer to the 100mnv01 folder and that’s it.

Of course, another question is where do I download PSP videos. There are a few PSP video membership sites that allows you to download unlimited PSP videos and movies for a one time fee. Besides PSP videos and movies, you can also download unlimited PSP games, music, themes and more.
