Bottom line is playing your game on the best gaming computer will increase your game like a turbine engine does a jet over a propeller plane. The problem is, who has the time to review all the best gaming PC websites, hope the review is true, and then spend the $$’s!

No one has that type of time, so I figure I just make one stop shop, for a true gamer’s review of the best gaming computer.

I gonna be checking in on the best gaming computer, parts, accessories, and everything a hardcore gamer needs to game.

I also wanna hear from the gamer’s out there a no bullshit review of all the above stuff comment on my reviews and junk.

A man switches on a tiny wireless chip that has been surgically implanted behind his ear, which then synchs up with the Web wherever he is in the world. The mere thought of logging in to the Internet triggers the system to turn on and connect to the Web. He could be on a bus or at the beach and from all outward appearances he is just staring off into space. But he sees a three dimensional artificial world before him that he can manipulate any way he chooses by thought alone.

By looking at the trends of today we can begin to develop a image of what the Web of the future will look like. I believe the Web will improve and grow in a way that will dwarf its present existence and will improve and enrich everyone’s lives way beyond what we can imagine today. The Net will become as integrated into everyone’s everyday lives as much as, and even more so, than the television or phone (in developed nations first, then everywhere). Television, communications and the Internet will merge.

The Web will become increasingly realistic, interactive, and three dimensional. Two dimensional displays will evolve into three dimensional displays. And the Web will probably incorporate more than just the two senses of seeing and hearing. It will first be incorporated into all other electronics found in household appliances, copy machines, automobiles, and anything else with a microchip. Then it will be integrated directly into our brains.

I also envisage this new Web creating an unimaginably sophisticated data sphere that surrounds and envelops the world like a warm electronic blanket, connecting everyone and everything. And it may some day become an autonomous and sentient entity in its own right that we may even come to depend on for life itself.

When a person switches on his wireless Web chip and connects with the Net, he’ll be looking at and interacting with the Web of the future. He’ll manipulate objects, click on links, download information, and communicate with anyone by simply thinking it. In fact, when he navigates to a grocery store to buy food, for instance, he’ll be able to “pick them up”, “feel them” and even “smell” the food he wants to buy just by thinking the appropriate thoughts.

In the future, Web-based software agents will constantly build dynamic lists and instructions to help people in personal and professional activities. These software agents are subroutines, or small programs, which may be part of a responsive ‘Internet Operating System’ that serves humanity, or possibly even destroy it. Programs may become responsible for doing some of the basic thinking that we get stuck routinely doing today. Additionally, it may be responsible for storing a percentage of our memories as well.

The Web has already become something we rely on for memory, and that reliance will only grow. We’d rather look something up on Google two or three times instead of trying to remember it initially. And eventually, we’ll come to rely on the Web for memories and immediate information so that it will seem like we are missing a part of our own brain when not “jacked in” to the Net, to borrow a phrase from science fiction writer William Gibson. The Net will be such a part of our existence that we may even feel profound separation and isolation when not connected.

The Evolution of the Web Display

Of course we’re not going to jump from flat screen LCD monitors of today to displays that exist only “in our minds”. Three dimensional displays may be the bridge. There is a device in existence today called a Heliodisplay(TM) that produces holograms which exist in three dimensions and are created with photographic projection using advanced laser technology. It’s possible that all displays will employ this technology in the future. The gaming industry ceaselessly works at making their artificial gaming experiences more realistic and is a powerful driving force in computer display technology.

The Web of our future will first be truly device independent where each piece of equipment is a different window that peers into the same global Web. From handheld devices not unlike the Star Trek Communicators, to cell phones, televisions, automobile dashboards, embedded refrigerator displays and MP3 players, all will be portals into the same World Wide Web.

And of course everything will be connected. Instead of applications running on individual personal computers and devices, applications will operate on the Net and be accessible to anyone, creating a loose Internet Operating System.

Ultimately, the Web of our future will most likely abandon standard two dimensional and even three dimensional displays and instead be projected right onto our corneas, skipping the middle man, so to speak.

FutureWeb is Closer Than We Think

Already demonstrated in the lab is the ability to cause a computer to react to thought alone. Duke University neuroscientist Miguel Nicolelis works in the field of BMI (brain-machine interface). In an experiment involving a monkey, a computer and a monitor, Nicolelis and his team successfully caused the monkey to communicate with and control a robotic arm through its brain’s neural signals alone.

The monkey’s brain activity and signals were first monitored with numerous electrodes inside its scalp while it manipulated a joystick. The scientists taught the monkey to move the joystick with its arms to accomplish movement on the monitor. Nicolelis’ team then took the joystick away, but continued everything else the same way. Since the monkey’s brain was hooked up to the computer, each time it had the thought of moving its arms, the desired affect actually happened anyway on the monitor, triggered by the monkey’s thoughts alone. In fact, the monkey was even able to control an artificial arm over the Web 600 miles away in the same manner.

There are two important applications for this technology that are driving its research: medicine and war, two constants in all of human history. Doctors will someday be able to attach a prosthetic arm to a patient, wire it up to her brain, and succeed in enabling her to control the prosthetic fingers by simply thinking it.

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) manages the research for the U.S. Department of Defense. In 2003, DARPA invested $23 million in BMI programs, including the one at Duke University cited above. Their goal is to allow soldiers to control weapons of all kinds by thought only. These super soldiers will be able to stealthily navigate through a battlefield willing robotic gliders above to drop their payloads of smart bombs on the enemy over the next hill, without endangering their own lives.

Ethical questions aside, brain-machine interfacing will someday mature and become integrated into our lives. Since the Web is already such a part of our world, the marriage of the two is inevitable.

This technology can be utilized in the other direction as well. Just like a thought can produce computer behavior, the computer will someday be able to send back sensory data other than just sight and sound. If a computer is hooked directly up to the brain, then smell, taste and touch can be affected as well. The Web will literally come to life.

The Semantic Web, Web 2.0 and the Collaboration of Humanity

Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the Web, wrote an illuminating book called Weaving the Web that I recommend all Web professionals read. Among the many profound ideas expressed are two concepts relevant here. One is the Semantic Web, which is explained as “The Web of data with meaning in the sense that a computer program can learn enough about what the data means to process it.” Metadata is the term used for data about data. Most Web pages today have embedded in the html code metadata that gives information about the Web page. Eventually, this information will become much more robust, allowing more intelligent searches to become a reality.

The Semantic Web may have the potential to help make the Internet an entity in its own right. Parallel processing, the connecting of computers to make super computers, has been in existence for some time now. In fact, that’s how the human brain operates, by conducting many operations at the same time.

The other fascinating idea Berners-Lee expressed in this landmark book is that his original idea for the Web involved much more of a two-way exchange of information. His original vision for the Web was one of collaboration. He wanted people to be able to post information to the Web as easily as it was to view information. Unfortunately, the latter has been embraced more readily by the general population.

But now we see the emergence of “Web 2.0″, a fairly new term that describes an innovative type of website that is built on the participation of its users. Blogs, wikis Podcasts and social networks all fall under the Web 2.0 umbrella. Today we are finally achieving what Berners-Lee had in mind all along. With websites such as MySpace, YouTube, Flickr, Squidoo, and Digg, non-technical users can now post information and contribute to the Web as easily as they can access it. The Web of the future will embrace this concept even more, causing its speed of growth to eclipse today’s rate.

It’s not difficult to see that the Web could be a vast parallel processing farm, that given enough artificial intelligence programming, the infusion of Semantic Web systems, and the constant additions from billions of intelligent beings (namely humans), it could have the potential of becoming something of a unified intelligence, a data sphere that surrounds the planet and is more powerful that the sum of its parts.

This concept of technology’s exponential growth turning onto something we cannot even imagine with the possibility of the Web becoming sentient is not new. Vernor Vinge, a retired Professor of Mathematics at San Diego State University, a computer scientist and a science fiction author, wrote about the Singularity in a 1993 essay.

A super-intelligence emerging out of the Web was also written about by Kevin Kelly in Wired Magazine in August 2005 and also published on KurzweilAI.

“. . . we are on the edge of change comparable to the rise of human life on Earth. The precise cause of this change is the imminent creation by technology of entities with greater than human intelligence.

This planet-sized computer is comparable in complexity to a human brain. Both the brain and the Web have hundreds of billions of neurons (or Web pages). Each biological neuron sprouts synaptic links to thousands of other neurons, while each Web page branches into dozens of hyperlinks. That adds up to a trillion “synapses” between the static pages on the Web. The human brain has about 100 times that number, but brains are not doubling in size every few years. The Machine (the Web of the future) is.”

An online search will yield many examples of bizarre concepts that existed only in science fiction later becoming reality. The Web is something that Earth has never seen before. It not only has the potential to connect everyone, but it can also extend every brain and grow exponentially. It may take a lot longer than anyone thinks, but eventually the Web of our future will be immensely different and much more powerful than anyone can possibly imagine today.

Video Games have a history of over 50 years and have been well documented. This is a synopsis of the most important milestones in the history of video gaming.

Video games can be dated back to 1952. It was A.S.Douglas who created the first documented computer game “Noughts and Crosses.”

The first American to invent an interactive video game was William A. Higginbotham. He invented “Tennis for Two” in 1958. In 1962, Steven Russell created “Space war.”

In 1971, Nolan Bushnell created the first coin arcade style game “Computer Space.” Ralph Baer, later known as “the father of video games”, created the first home game console, The Odyssey, capable of playing 12 different games.

The first multi-game home console, Atari 2600, with plug-in cartridges that store game information was released in 1977. 1978 saw Magnavox releasing – a console system that includes a full 49 key keyboard- Odyssey 2.

The popular Pac-Man was brought to the United States by the Japanese Company, Namco, in partnership with America’s Midway in 1980. Pac-Man is the first game to have an animated character with its own name.

Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto created Donkey Kong, introducing “Mario” as a character, in four different levels. Miyamoto went on to become an industry giant followed by a string of successful games beginning with Donkey Kong in 1981.

Software giant Microsoft jumped on the bandwagon in 1982 and released its first version of “Flight Simulator.”

The Americans, hitherto used to play games on slow systems with almost negligible sound systems, were overwhelmed by the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) released in 1986. NES had 8-bit color graphics, elaborate sound effects and faster game play.

As video games grew popular and addictive, a slew of games that were racist, pornographic and violent to the core, hit the market. This trend of feeding to the barbaric streaks in gamers began with Custer’s Revenge in 1983. This type of gaming reached a boiling point with the release of Mortal Kombat in 1992. The extreme violence in Mortal Kombat, lead to a Senate Investigation 1993.

Following the Senate Investigation, the Entertainment Software Association established The Entertainment Software Rating Board in 1994. This board began by providing ratings and information about video and computer game content. The ESRB has since evolved 6 ratings and 31 content descriptions that slot every game into a particular category.

While the games were growing rich in content and presentation, the technology available to play the games was not as best as one would have liked it to be. The systems were either too pricey or lacked the finesse to play the games. Breaking this spell in 1999, Sega released Dreamcast System. Dreamcast with its groundbreaking technology – VMS memory card/PDA and built in 56kbps modem for online play – was described by Popular Science Magazine as “one of the most important and innovative products of 1999.”

Technology at its best is available in the video game industry. Sony released the 128 bit Play station 2 – the first console to use DVD technology – with graphics capability that was better than that available on a PC. This is one of the major milestones of the year 2000.

Hoping to cash in on the video game popularity, the U.S.Army, gave away the game, America’s Army, for free. The motive was to attract new recruitment for the army. The game eventually became the top online action game in the country in 2002.

While the army was using the video games positively, citizens were concerned about the impact of “cop-killer” games. Deciding that enough was enough, Washington State signed a legislation prohibiting selling or renting cop-killer games to minors. This historical regulation, fining violators’ up to $500, came into force in 2003.

What has been listed here is only about what can be termed as Major Milestones in the evolution of Video Games and does not claim to be a calendar of events in the history of video games.

Ok, im getting a new computer for $500, its a dell inspiron 531. I also have a dell dimension 5100 with 2.5 GB RAM and a EVGA Geforce 8600 gt 512mb video card. So, i dont know much about the pc yet, but its pretty much gonna be for gaming. So i plan on putting in the 8600 gt into the new pc until i get a better card. Also, is my dell dimension RAM compatible with the new inspiron? If not, doesnt matter, it comes with 4GB RAM Next, what do i need to upgrade to be able to play most new pc games? I plan on getting a core 2 quad for it. Then later a GTX 260 video card. Will that be enough for gta4 and crysis and such? Also how much will a GTX 260 and a quad core cost? Links to newegg or wherever you know of a great deal would be great. I also suspect i will need a bigger power supply,so what do u guys think i will need? Then, what kind of cooling will i need and how much? Then, i will have a good pc finally and i will JIZZ IN MY PANTS! Thanks in advance!

first off if you had a lil info on building pc you could build a better pc for cheaper if you plan on only spending 500 you could get a phenom II 940 BE $225 and a decent mobo $70-$120 with 4gb 1066 ram for 40$

ANY usb headset can be used on the PS3. I used my old one until I got bluetooth. You just need to make sure you activate it on the PS3 options.

Do You Need a Sound Card?

If you want to buy a sound card, you should ask yourself whether you really need one. The motherboards of today come equipped with great on-board sound. Some motherboards even have support for 5.1 surround sound and come with a range of audio optical ports. So if you plan on using your computer to listen to music, play games, or any other basic things to do with sound, you should definitely consider staying with on-board sound.

On the other hand, there are two good reasons why you would want to buy a sound card:

Producing: If you’re producing music you’ll need a high quality sound card for the very best sound quality. Your sound card will probably need some extra ports/connections that on-board sound doesn’t provide.

Gaming: If you want the very best gaming experience possible, that means having the very best sound. So you’ll want a sound card to do this. You can probably pick up a decent sound card for gaming at 100 bucks or less.

Surround Sound

An important factor in choosing your sound card is the sound standards that it supports. Most high-end sound cards support what is called EAX and 5.1 surround sound. This means you can hook up to 5 speakers to your sound card for a great 3D sound experience. Some cards even support the newer 7.1 surround sound.

Special Features

If you need some particular type of feature on your sound card, make sure you take this into account. Music producers will have the most needs, such as multi-channel support, MIDI support, good signal to noise ratio, and plenty of connectivity options if needed. Gamers won’t need to be so picky with their sound card, surround sound is probably their largest concern.

Finally, if you’re buying a high-end sound card, make sure your computer will be able to take advantage of it. There’s no point having a great sound card if your CPU can’t handle it. This is an important point to consider before going out and buying your sound card.

Im having a freind build me a Desktop gaming computer since my old dell that i was fine with broke down, over payed for it, 600 bucks 2 years ago, ripped off by a local computer store and im not sure why i bought it lol, Can anyone here give me links to a bunch of parts i can buy off a site or from a store? Main things i want is a desktop that i will never have a issue with, with main specs that include, 1tb harddrive, Possibly ati radeon 5970 4g or 2g if thats too much, or if you guys think its better, ati radeon 5870 crossfire (dual 2 cards) and at least 12g of ram, My main computer was a old 2004 dell laptop with 149gb harddrive and quadro fx 1400 lol.. ide like to run everything at max probely a few years into the future like 2015?

if anyone deicides to help, Go ahead and go a few `100 dollars over like 1700 Max on the dollars since i dont feel like putting alot of my new car money on a desktop computer although i would be using it Alot Links and possibly a small reason why you recomend, Thanks!

I intend to mostly use New egg, unless theres better els where like fryz located in oregon.

Havent been to Impressed by Geforce latley, Though if you guys can provide links to bench marks if you end up recomending a geforce card(s) would be appreciated but from what ive seen the ati radeon cards look better

(This will be in a full case, already picked it out but if u have one u like feel free to link it)
Thanks for the comments so far, Not sure on the monitor, i have a couple lcd dell monitors 19-22 in in size, I like that kingston stats, 1800mhz 6gb, might go for 8 if its not one of thows strict kits where you cant add more, + That would leave alot more money for a graghics card. Also i do intend to buy a new screen, no point in having some half decade old lcd screens with a bomb computer right lol, If you guys got any recomendations throw em at me, looking for 160 or lower on the screen, probely around 120 unless it has some amazing specs like 2ms, anyone els with hardware recomendations please tell
Thanks for the info guys im loving this information, so much to choose from and then so many ways to go like the comment bellow (2 of the older radeons have the same or higher power of 1 5970, and the higher mhz ram sticks when i was considering cheaper 12 sticks with less mhz that would be kind of a waist of budjet.. reading what you guys have put down after im done typing this.

Why not just use a site like iBuypower. I did. They sent me the CDs and Boxes for some of my parts.

Right now I wouldn’t bother getting more then 6 gigs of memory. I run more then one game at a time and still I don’t use 6 gigs of memory. I was reading junk and the Nvidia Geforce have been sucking because their company has been busy working on stupid things and junk for other companies. So Ati Radeon comes out better, with more compatible cards, and with great improvements and moves in the right direction for technology.

You’ll have to research the Motherboards to make sure they will upgrade to 24 gigs ram in the future. You will want to have cooling systems for your Graphics/Video card and your Processor. Make sure the case is well ventilated with alot of air flow ( good and many fans). If you decide to get the V8 for your Processor.. it’s very big so you won’t be able to have a fan on the side and you will need a big case ( the companies don’t communicate with you).

http://www.ibuypower.com/

I’d try to get a Quad Core or Oct Core i5 or i7 because they can handle DDR5 Graphics/Video cards just fine.

You won’t get 5 years use out of your computer if you are a heavy gamer. If you don’t cool the thing properly then it will die out in months. If you don’t put alot of effort into cooling your computer and aren’t a heavy gamer then you might get a couple years. I’d expect atleast three years if you do proper cooling. 5 Years if you don’t mind replacing parts as they go bad a couple of times. Like I said, make sure you can get the RAM to atleast 24 gigs one day, though, on the Motherboard. You never know when the Memory required will suddenly shoot up with Computers, Software, and OS.
